Hi, I’m Chrissy!

I’m your marketing multi-tool! I’m a copywriter with seven years of experience in writing, email marketing, and community management.

I’ve been on the front lines (Instagram DMs, customer service, and event activations) so I know how fiercely loyal customers can be to a brand they love. I’m here to strengthen your brand voice and identity through every bit of copy you put out there, from the little surprises on your packaging to all the nooks and crannies of your website.

I’m also a published nature photographer! Explore around my site to see what I do when I’m not at my desk!

BRANDS I’VE WRITTEN FOR

I haven’t worked for agencies, so the companies you see represented here hired me directly.

WORK EXAMPLES

Most of my work for Boston Beer was not yet published at the time of my lay off, so I was unable to acquire it without going through a complicated request process. This section shows a few pieces of work I was able to find freely on the internet, but is far from a complete portfolio. Other work includes radio advertisements for Truly and Twisted Tea, social media posts for Angry Orchard, brand identity brainstorms, product naming, and so much more!

Keep an eye out for my work in the wild on Point of Sale pieces for Twisted Tea, Truly, Angry Orchard, and Hard Mountain Dew.

WARNING:

I spent Much of my career working as the copywriter and email Manager for Pit Viper.

if you’re unfamiliar with Pit Viper, they are a sunglass and apparel brand with a very strong brand voice - one that includes strong words and inappropriate jokes.

Some of the work you’ll see here is in line with that brand personality. I ask that you

judge me Not by the content of my copy, but by the skills it takes to write it.

Sample COPYwriting:
Product DescriptionS

You know what makes your product worth buying, but it’s the copy that convinces the customers.

A good product description describes the product and its features. A great product description solidifies your brand voice and gets your customers stoked on your product. These PDs are my favorite assignments to write. While I’ve written over 700 product descriptions, most of them are probably more… colorful than what you’re looking for.

Okay, okay. If you want to see some of the ones I wrote for Pit Viper, you can see them HERE.

EMAIL & SMS MArketing

Click below to view just a few of the 90+ emails I designed and built for Pit Viper. I utilized Klaviyo, Drip, and Mailchimp to send campaigns, segment subscribers, and track email metrics.

  • Some of my favorite emails to write don’t come across as marketing a product at all.

Whether they’re telling stories or promoting initiatives, the emails where you remind your customers just what the brand is all about are often the most impactful.

For Pit Viper, I regularly used “dead weeks” between promotions to remind folk of the humor they loved us for in the first place. For example: an unprovoked list of what to spend your stimulus check on, or a guide to a quarantined St. Paddy’s Day.

  • With the help of Photoshop, I’m able to craft seamless emails that feature irregular shapes, like in our Pit Viper XS Launch, or all over prints and integrated GIFs, as seen in a New Apparel Launch.

  • I’m not afraid to try out some unconventional methods to get customers to engage. One of our highest click rates (15.1%) came from this short n’ simple April Fools Email.

MISCELLANEOUS WRITING

LONG-FORM WRITING:

Sometimes topics deserve more than a few sentences. I put my all into long-form pieces, whether it be satire, like this humorous Fake Numbers Report, or a serious company statement.

PERSONAL WRITING:

When I’m not writing for work, I still find myself writing, usually about animals. You can read some of my non-marketing writing HERE.
